Day life of leather Queen

Do I believe that I have an interesting life? Certainly!

Do I question if it’s interesting enough to share and inspire others? Often.

Last week, I met someone who, among other things, is a blogger. I suggested meeting at one of my favorite places, Foundation Alaia. I like this place more for the artistic ambiance and the nice people rather than the menu. It’s also very convenient as it’s not far from where I live. The autumn show turned out to be busier than I had planned, so I appreciated it when she agreed to meet closer to me.

I was a few minutes early. I chose to sit outside despite the chilly weather and ordered a black tea with honey and lemon, just the way I like it. She chose a coffee. It wasn’t the first time we met, but it was the first time we dedicated to getting to know each other better. I passionately listened to her stories and life experiences, which I found very inspiring. What caught my attention in particular was the fact that she writes more than 40 blog posts per year. I told her, “Wow! I am happy if I can keep the pace of one, sometimes twice per month!” To this, she replied, “You have to share more!”

At that moment, I realized that I share a lot, but not necessarily in the same form or on the same platform.

Nevertheless, a part of me felt that her statement, "Your life is interesting, our meeting now is interesting, what you know is worth sharing," was true.

And so with her encouragement, I sat at my desk and started to write…..

During the first week of October, my time was dedicated to training to become a life coach. On the second day, I arrived a few minutes early and greeted as many people around me as I could. Suddenly, one of the participants in the course approached me and enthusiastically showed me her boots. She said, “I found my leather boots, and when I put them on this morning, I was thinking of you.” She was smiling, and I could tell she felt good. Encouraged, I told her that it was great and that she looked good in them, which was 100% true. However, there was something bigger than that - the energy, happiness, and the feeling that with those boots, she is capable of kicking off any challenge that the day will bring to her.

I also knew that she had been hesitant to wear boots and a leather skirt for a while. She confessed a month ago that she had hidden them deep in the closet. When I asked her why, she replied that she didn't feel pretty enough to wear it.

But that day, she was happy to find the boots and determined to look for the skirt that is probably too well hidden. I was content that she realized that leather might help her with her self-development. We didn’t have much time to discuss this during the day, which was definitely challenging in many ways, physically and emotionally, but I cherish the moment when I could feel that who I am, what I do, and how I do it could help someone to be more self-confident.

The day after, my friend from the same group wore a leather skirt. The first thing she did in the morning was show it to me with pride. Her skirt was short and she wore dark pantyhose and knee-high boots. The overall look was very appropriate yet daring. Sending a clear message to ones who were ready to receive it. I found her very courageous and ready for new experiences.

During the lunch break, I went to pick up some leather clothing that I was sending to a customer. I brought the large bag into the class, and immediately she asked what was inside. I explained and promised to show her at the end of the day.

Later, I opened the bag and showed her a black leather dress, leather shorts, a leather top, and leather pants. She looked at them with genuine interest. Then she promised, "I will buy myself a more leather once I embark on a new professional journey." I wondered if she made this promise to herself or me. I promised myself that I would support her whenever she needed help to feel confident in leather. I just didn't say it out loud, but somehow I felt she could count on me in this matter.

I have many stories like this, and I remember them all. They always brighten my day and encourage me to continue spreading the word about the Power Of Leather.

I enjoy your blog, Deni_C. I love your stories, thoughts and insights you share about your leather lifestyle. As someone who adores, admires and appreciates a lady in leather, I really enjoy learning about why leather is so special for you and the positive impact it has your life.

I also love knowing that your have inspired others to start wearing leather, like your friends. I hope that for future Power of Leather projects that you do interviews with those you have inspired to start wearing, like your friends here.... and even other leather lovers you've met or just happen to cross paths with throughout your journey.
